Curriculum Vitae:

Uta-Micaela Dürig is a corporate and foundation consultant, lecturer and author. She can look back on over 40 years of professional experience in commercial enterprises (RWE, ABB, KRONE/Jenoptik, BOSCH), the media, the public sector, civil society and management consultancies. She was Managing Director of the Robert Bosch Foundation, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Communications at the BOSCH Group, was Head of the Press Office in the Senate Department for Transport and Public Enterprises in the first Berlin Senate after the Berlin wall came down and was most recently Member of the board of management for Social Policy at a large independent charitable organization.

After graduating from high school, she trained two years as a daily newspaper editor and after 3.5 years successfully completed a part-time degree at the Institute for Communication Sciences & Journalism at the Free University (FU) Berlin and later trained as a business mediator. Uta-Micaela Dürig has been teaching at universities and journalism schools since 1996 and publishes on the topics of sustainability, public affairs/lobbying, strategic communication & crisis communication and foundation management. Dürig is a member of supervisory boards of companies, start-ups, universities and foundations.

Uta-Micaela Dürig is married and has one daughter.

Effective Sustainability Communication:

The specialist book “Effective Sustainability Communication” was published as an e-book in December 2024 and as a print edition in January 2025. More than 30 authors from science, universities, agencies, companies and start-ups contributed to the anthology edited by Uta-Micaela Dürig and Heidrun Haug. It deals with successful sustainability communication, basic knowledge, practical examples and success stories. It is aimed at lecturers and students, practitioners and entrepreneurs. The reference book offers tips and checklists.

Zukunftsorientiertes Stiftungsmanagement (2018):

The article on the Robert Bosch Stiftung published in this issue answers the following questions, among others: How can a 50-year-old, successful foundation be strategically and culturally realigned to address the major challenges of our time? Which thematic priorities should be in focus? What kind of collaboration achieves greater impact? How can the greatest possible employee and partner commitment be achieved while at the same time limiting the timeframe of the strategy process?

Perspektivwechsel im Employer Branding (2015 + 2019):

The specialist article published here describes the development of a strong employer brand and its successful application.

Tradition kommunizieren (2008):

The specialist book (edited by Prof. Heike Bühler / Uta-Micaela Dürig) presents the theoretical background of heritage communication and uses several practical examples to show its positive effect on a company's or institution's corporate identity.

Strategische Kommunikationsplanung (2008):

This reference book (edited by Prof. Peter Szyska/Uta-Micaela Dürig) addresses a stringent holistic approach to strategic communication planning and shows its advantages.

Chefsache Issues Management (2003):

The article published here deals with systematic issues management at companies.

Krisen-PR (2007 + 2016):

The interview published in this book addresses experiences with crisis situations and practical approaches to solving them.

Responsible Corporate Communications (ResComm, 2021):

Only with a clear compass of values and ethics can trust be gained and built in the VUCA world. This technical book and the technical article it contains are intended to make a contribution to this. The core content of the article is how attitude communication becomes a success factor for sustainability. In the meantime, this has also become a successful seminar series.

Bildband 125 Jahre Bosch (2011):

This illustrated book summarizes the inspiring gala that was held for the 125th anniversary of Robert Bosch GmbH in 2011, with 2,200 guests. At the time, the absolute highlight of the event was the premiere of a live performance piece at the Messe Stuttgart by an orchestra comprising Bosch associates. The performance was accompanied by a multimedia show on a 120 x 8-meter screen. I am proud to have developed and implemented the book, gala concept and 800 more global activities together with an enthusiastic, highly professional team: Pure emotion!
